This is a graphic score assignment for Music Appreciation. Students are asked to study and explore various graphic scores, and then draft some of their own. I brought in two cellists that workshopped with the students, allowing them to get immediate aural feedback whenever they changed their scores. This assignment was for the middle of the semester but could also be used early in the semester (when talking about notation, for example) or at the very end of the semester.
